Marco:

Ciao Giulia! You cannot imagine what happened to me on Saturday afternoon while I was hiking on the hills.)

Giulia:

Davvero Marco? Racconta tutto! Tell me everything! Was the weather nice when you departed from the city?)

Marco:

Sì, splendeva un sole magnifico e faceva caldo. Camminavo tranquillamente nel bosco e ascoltavo il canto degli uccelli.(Yes, a magnificent sun was shining and it was warm. I was walking peacefully in the woods and listening to the birds singing.)

Giulia:

Sembrava una giornata ideale. E poi cosa è cambiato improvvisamente?(It seemed like an ideal day. And then what changed all of a sudden?)

Marco:

All of a sudden the sky became very dark and a freezing wind started to blow through the trees.)

Giulia:

Mamma mia! Did you have a windbreaker or an umbrella in your backpack?)

Marco:

Così ho cominciato a correre verso valle.(No, I had nothing because I thought it would not rain! So I started to run down towards the valley.)

Giulia:

E ti sei bagnato completamente prima di trovare riparo?(And did you get completely soaked before finding shelter?)

Marco:

I saw an old stone farmhouse and I took refuge under the porch as soon as the first raindrops fell.)

Giulia:

Che sollievo! E dentro c'era qualcuno o la casa era abbandonata?(What a relief! And was there someone inside or was the house abandoned?)

Marco:

There was an elderly, very kind farmer who was preparing hot tea and he offered me a steaming cup.)

Giulia:

In the end that thunderstorm turned into a wonderful encounter.)
