Paolo:

Maria, ho bisogno del tuo parere. Mi hanno offerto una posizione direttiva a Londra, ma sono molto indeciso.(Maria, I need your opinion. They offered me a managerial position in London, but I am very undecided.)

Maria:

Che grande opportunità! Al posto tuo, io accetterei subito senza pensarci due volte!(What a great opportunity! In your place, I would accept immediately without thinking twice!)

Paolo:

Vorrei accettare, ma dovrei lasciare tutti i miei amici e la mia famiglia qui in Italia.(I would like to accept, but I would have to leave all my friends and my family here in Italy.)

Maria:

Ti capisco, ma cinque anni fa io ho rifiutato una borsa di studio a New York e adesso ho un enorme rimpianto.(I understand you, but five years ago I turned down a scholarship in New York and now I have a huge regret.)

Paolo:

Davvero Maria? Oggi avresti preferito fare quell'esperienza internazionale?(Really Maria? Today would you have preferred to do that international experience?)

Maria:

Assolutamente sì! Avrei arricchito il mio curriculum e avrei imparato l'inglese alla perfezione.(Absolutely yes! I would have enriched my resume and I would have learned English to perfection.)

Paolo:

E cosa ti ha detto il tuo mentore quando avevi preso quella decisione?(And what did your mentor tell you when you had made that decision?)

Maria:

Mi aveva avvertito che me ne sarei pentita più avanti negli anni.(He had warned me that I would regret it later in years.)

Paolo:

Le sue parole erano profetiche. Potresti aiutarmi a preparare il colloquio in inglese stasera?(His words were prophetic. Could you help me prepare the interview in English tonight?)

Maria:

Lo farei molto volentieri! Ci vediamo alle otto a casa mia.(I would do so very gladly! We will meet at eight at my place.)

Paolo:

Grazie infinite Maria! Non so cosa farei senza i tuoi preziosi consigli.(Infinite thanks Maria! I don't know what I would do without your precious advice.)

Maria:
